Canmore Wedding

It was a super hot day in June when I had the pleasure of documenting this day...so hot, that we cut portraits short and went for a cold beer(or Radler or Burt Reynolds--whatever) over at The Rose and Crown. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do ;) It was a beautiful day filled with family, friends and a whole lot of laughter. Here are some of the images we created together.

Enjoy!

New Year's Eve Great Gatsby Wedding | Calgary Wedding Photographer

When it comes time to blog a wedding, the truth is...I never know what to say--or, how to narrow down the images for a blog post. This was a beautiful wedding of two wonderful people on New Year's Eve. It was at the beautiful Petroleum Club in downtown Calgary and no detail was missed. The amazing flowers were done by Amborella Floral Studios. The decor and wedding planning was out of this world thanks to the team at PopKollaborative. Here is a sampling of the photographs we created...as you can tell--the party was pretty AMAZING!!

A Truly Canadian Wedding | Calgary Wedding Photographer

I had the pleasure of documenting my first Hindu/Christian wedding over the Canada Day weekend this year. To me, it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day--seeing two cultures come together to celebrate family and love. You see the thing is, around the world, people really are mostly the same. They just want the best for their families and the ones that the love. The differences between us--these are the things we must celebrate and enjoy about each other. And, as a proud Canadian, I feel that our country does a great job of welcoming people from other countries, but, at the same time, encouraging them to maintain their heritage.

The father of the bride remarked about how his children had all married different cultures--one daughter married a Ukrainian, his son married a Vietnamese girl and now his other daughter had married an Indian. He said 'imagine the grandchildren!!!' ;) but I thought to myself how CANADIAN is this?

I want to say thank you to two lovely families who welcomed me, fed me, danced with me, and shared their amazing traditions with me. To the aunties who sat at my table....I promise to email you a link to the gallery so you can download all of the images! Here is a sneak peek...enjoy!

Rocky Mountain Engagement Session

I love it when clients are up for making an extra effort to do something awesome!! We drove out to Kananaskis and explored the beautiful Upper Lakes area. We were super lucky because it can be REALLY windy there, but it was a super calm and beautiful day(even though the forecast called for snow).

They also brought along a Hudson's Bay Blanket--which her parents received as a wedding gift back in the day. It has long been on my wish list. That and a Pendleton blanket. Happy to have it to play with at a session.

Enjoy!
